My Background
Years 1 & 2 at Ohio University
I began my undergraduate academic journey in August 2022, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences in Psychology at Ohio University. I immediately fell in love with the campus, the people, and my classes — yet something still felt missing. I enjoyed what I was learning, but I wasn’t sure how to apply it or what direction I wanted to take my education.
With guidance from my academic advisor, I began exploring various professions that value psychology backgrounds and skill sets. This search led me to enroll in my first business course, Quantitative Business Analytics, which sparked my interest in how psychology and business intersect. By the end of Year 1, I added a Business Administration minor.
By my second year, I expanded my coursework to include management and marketing classes, and I started to feel a new sense of purpose and direction. I realized that I wanted to combine my understanding of human behavior with the strategic and organizational side of business. While I continued as a psychology major, I felt somewhat limited by my lack of access to the business school’s resources and professional network.
At the same time, my psychology studies strengthened my analytical thinking and research skills, teaching me how to approach problems systematically through the scientific method. By the end of my second year, I had earned a position on the University Hearing Board, where I began applying my growing skills in decision-making, ethics, and communication.
